2019 Autumn Holiday
The 2019 autumn holiday was 6-day coach trip to Scarborough ,Whitby and Castle Howard.
We were spoilt with superb weather for the whole 6 days
DAY 1:
Having joined our tour coach in Derby we travelled to Scarborough with a lunch and site seeing stop in York which was enjoyed by all.
After dinner there was entertainment in the hotel by a male performer with a good mix of songs and jokes.
DAY 2:
After a good breakfast we departed at a comfortable start time of 9.30 to visit Filey for site seeing and coffee
and then we traveled on to “Eden Camp” which is an excellent World War II museum housed in an old prisoner of war camp.
DAY 3:
This was a free day in Scarborough with members all choosing to do their own things.
DAY 4:
First a visit to Whitby
was followed by a journey on the North York Moors Railway from Whitby to Pickering initially hauled by a diesel loco which was replaced
by a steam loco at Grosmont for the remainder of the journey.
DAY 5:
Was spent at Castle Howard viewing the house and gardens.
DAY 6:
We returned to Derby with a stop in Beverley for lunch and site seeing.
The holiday was made all the more enjoyable by the excellent performance of our driver Richard.
We would also like to thank ALL About Tours for a well-balanced holiday programme.
